Our Why

Behind every single parent is a child watching to see what’s possible. When we walk alongside one parent, hope can reach generations.

Every child and every single parent has God-given gifts and potential. We believe our community grows stronger when families have the support, relationships, and opportunities to live out those gifts.

Since 2008, Pearl Promise has walked alongside single-parent families in the St. Vrain Valley, and we've never done it alone. Champions like you pray, serve, give, and open doors so that a parent can move forward with confidence, a young person can discover their strengths, and a family can build a legacy of hope.

Why Single-Parent Families

Scripture calls us to serve in many ways. So why single-parent families?

In 2008, Pastor Rick Rusaw of LifeBridge Christian Church challenged a group of about 20 business and community leaders to take on one community issue. After a year of study, they landed on single-parent families. It was a foundational issue: children in single-parent homes faced greater risks in school and in life, and the biblical mandate was clear.

"There is so much untapped capacity in our single parents that, when unleashed, contributes so much more to our community. They have a great deal of love and hard-earned wisdom to share."

— Hal Bagley, co-founder

If your faith is stirring you toward families like these, you're in the right place.

"Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow."

— Isaiah 1:17

Why "Pearl"?

A pearl begins as a single grain of sand. Through pressure and hardship, it becomes something beautiful and of great value. That's how our founders saw the single parents we serve, and it's why we became The Pearl Group in 2012.

Our Mission

Pearl Promise is a Christ-centered ministry that walks alongside single-parent families in the St. Vrain Valley, providing the hope, relationships, and practical support they need to build an economically and emotionally stable home, so their children can grow into the people God created them to be.

Our Values

Christ at the Center

Our faith shapes why we serve and how we care for every person.

Children First

Everything we do for a parent is ultimately for their children and the generations that follow.

Every Person Is Gifted

Every parent, child, volunteer, and Champion has God-given gifts and a part to play.

Meet Families Where They Are

We offer what each family truly needs, when they need it, with compassion and respect.

Walk Alongside

We build lasting relationships, not transactions, through the highs and lows.

Faithful Stewardship

We use every gift wisely and share honestly what it makes possible.

These are the commitments we make to the families we serve, and to you.

A Why That Keeps Growing

Our founders first thought the answer was simple: education and better jobs. Over time, we learned the mission runs deeper. We still meet immediate needs, and we also care for the heart and soul. We aren't a 12-month program. We walk alongside families through a multiyear journey.

More and more, our focus is the children. They didn't choose their circumstances. Each one is a child of God with a lifetime of gifts to offer, and helping those gifts flourish is at the core of why we serve.

Your prayers, time, and generosity become part of that story.

"They become seeds for generations to come. Long after I'm gone, their legacies will carry on the transformation. One family, one child at a time."

— Hal Bagley, co-founder
