Development Manager Job Description


  • Supervisor: Executive Director

  • Area: Longmont, CO, within the St. Vrain Valley School District region

  • Weekly Commitment: 20 to 29 hours (half-time)

  • Annual Compensation: $25,000 to $30,000 per year (experience-dependent) - Exempt

  • Perks: Generous Paid Time Off - 30 hours in the first year, increasing to 60 hours on the 1st anniversary.

Our programs, which range from focused moms, kid mentoring to car clinics, fill gaps in existing community safety nets and make the difference by focusing on skill building and independence. By providing opportunities to single parent families in Boulder County, Longmont and the surrounding areas, Pearl Promise helps build a stronger more robust community of neighbors. We are in search of an individual who possesses a deep passion for integrating their faith with their professional expertise in fundraising to create a positive influence within our community and our mission. Consider joining Pearl Promise as a part-time Development Manager and contribute through strategic fundraising and meaningful donor engagement.


In this role, you will assume a pivotal position in nurturing connections with individuals, churches, and faith-based organizations that align with our shared values and vision. As a Development Manager, you will have the chance to leverage your fundraising proficiency to assist us in securing vital resources, allowing us to effectively fulfill our Christian mission.

Job Content: Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


  • Fundraising Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy that aligns with our Christ-centered mission and organizational goals.

  • Donor Engagement: Identify, nurture, and maintain relationships with individual donors, churches, and faith-based organizations, fostering a sense of community and shared purpose.

  • Fundraising Campaigns: Plan, coordinate, and manage fundraising campaigns, events, and appeals that resonate with our Christian values and inspire giving.

  • Communication and Outreach: Create compelling communication materials, including newsletters, emails, and social media content, to keep donors and supporters informed and engaged in our mission.

  • Donor Database Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor records, ensuring efficient tracking of contributions and donor interactions.

  • Budget Oversight: Collaborate with the Executive Director to develop and manage the fundraising budget, ensuring responsible stewardship of resources.

  • On-going Communication: Develop on-going donor communications (newsletters, e-blasts, social, and web site).

  • Educate the local community, including churches, pastors, community groups, schools, and the professional communities about Pearl with the goal of obtaining support and involvement of the ministry.

  • Create relationships and networking with local government, school, and community agencies that serve our clients’ needs.


Job Qualifications:


  • A deep and abiding commitment to the Christian faith and alignment with the organization's values.

  • Proven experience in non-profit fundraising and development.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong organizational and project management skills.

  • Proficiency in donor management software and Microsoft Office Suite or Google Workspace.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a faith-based team

  • Demonstrate a consistent walk with Jesus Christ in a personal and professional life.

  • Demonstrate a passion for providing mercy and empowerment for single parents.

  • Active commitment in a local church.

  • Community network relationships that could benefit in the growth.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills for volunteer and employee-based organizations.

  • Grant writing experience is a plus.


Work Environment:


  • Faith based Christian work environment during all activities.

  • Half time exempt position.

  • Local travel expected.
