Executive Director
Debra Larkin
Debra Larkin is the Executive Director of PEARL Promise, bringing more than three years of board leadership and nearly a year as Executive Director of Operations and Impact. She has helped strengthen the organization’s strategy, operations, and community impact.
With over 25 years of experience in high-tech marketing and business leadership, Debra brings expertise in brand strategy and organizational growth to support PEARL Promise’s sustainability and visibility.
A former single parent, Debra combines professional expertise with lived experience and a faith-rooted commitment to empowering single-parent families.

Development Director
Nicole Hirai
Nicole Hirai serves as Development Director at Pearl Promise. A founding member of the organization, Nicole played a key role in shaping Pearl Promise’s early vision and mission, and her passion for serving single-parent families has remained constant ever since.
Nicole brings experience in nonprofit leadership, fundraising, donor and church partnerships, and ministry. She is deeply committed to building meaningful relationships that strengthen Pearl Promise’s impact and sustainability. Nicole is honored to return to Pearl in this season, helping ensure families continue to receive the support, stability, and encouragement they need to thrive.

Client Engagement Manager
Kay Schlarb
As Client Engagement Manager, Kay combines heartfelt compassion with an “all business” approach for single moms in the FOCUS PEARLS program. With over 30 years of experience in “work worth doing” at Intrado Public Safety and Longmont United Hospital, Kay is dedicated to helping our clients realize their full potential, step-by-step, in a positive, caring environment.
Her passion is to help clients develop practical life- and job-skills that lead to a bright future for program participants and their families in current situations and for generations to come! kay@pearlpromise.org

Transportation Coordinator
Alicia Price
Alicia Price is thrilled to be part of the Pearl Promise team since 2023, serving as the Transportation Coordinator. Her role is vital in aiding the single-parent community with their automotive care and maintenance needs. With a rich background in public safety and community care, Alicia seamlessly integrates the concept of "wheels up" with "lifting spirits up," making her a perfect fit for this position. Her dedication to supporting single-parent families is evident through her efforts in leading the Car Care Clinic, collaborating on vehicle repair projects, and facilitating the donation of cars to single parents in need. Alicia's contribution truly redefines the concept of "moving forward" within the Pearl Promise mission. transportation@pearlpromise.org

Office Coordinator / Data Entry
LaRaye Schaff
With 8+ years in office management and nonprofit operations, LaRae ensures smooth day-to-day systems and supports Pearl Promise through her expertise in administration, reporting, and community engagement. She previously served as Office Manager at Faith Community Lutheran Church in Longmont, where she oversaw donor records, managed events, coordinated community assistance programs, and led the Kids Hope mentoring program for more than a decade. LaRae holds a B.S. in MIS/Accounting and a Paralegal Certificate. Her professionalism, compassion, and heart for service make her a valued part of the Pearl Promise team. accounting@pearlpromise.org

Kids Mentoring Program Coordinator
Melissa Frick
Melissa Frick has joined Pearl as the Mentor Program Coordinator. In her capacity as a Mentor Coordinator, she thrives on building meaningful connections, carefully matching mentors with mentees to cultivate impactful relationships that foster growth, skill development, and a sense of belonging. As a Licensed Professional Counselor she has devoted herself to helping empower children and youth with the tools to advocate for themselves and increase their chances of a healthy and happy future. Her work in both of these roles is driven by the belief in the transformative power of human connection and the potential within each individual to lead a fulfilling life. She is thrilled to return to Pearl Promise in this new role having formerly served as Executive Director. She feels humbled to be invited back and is excited about using both her formal education in Clinical mental Health Counseling as well as her real world skills of parenting two teenagers to grow the mentoring program with pearl promise and impact as many youth as possible. melissa@pearlpromise.org
